![]() ![]() If a buyer pays for Canada Post Expedited shipping, then this is how it should be sent. I wouldn't subject my Canadian buyers to ChitChat service especially without first notifying them of possible delays due to a third party being involved. What I fail to understand is why ETSY would promote this service when it has a perfectly reasonable shipping label purchase process of its own. It is far easier and cheaper to purchase a shipping label from ETSY or CanadaPost. The lure of huge savings is just that reality is quite the reverse. My experience is that ChitChat is a complete waste of time and money and puts my shipments to risk by involving a third, unknown party in my business transactions for no meaningful reason. I was told that the return of my 75 dollars will take between 5 to 10 days. I decided to cancel my account with ChitChat, called them up and instructed the lady who answered to do the needful.I couldn’t figure this one out and found this extremely disconcerting. Immediately afterwards, I received a message from ChitChat that there had been a fire in their warehouse in Pickering and shipments would be delayed.I failed to understand the reason for this and realized that this would cause serious problems.would send the package back to that Pickering location not to me. This meant that any returns, cancellations etc. What threw me completely was that when I printed the label, the ‘From’ address had my company name but a completely unknown Pickering, ON address. In short, I ended up paying ChitChat 75 dollars for a postage label which I could easily have purchased for slightly lesser than 12 dollars from ETSY or CanadaPost. It then charged a third amount of 25 dollars to my credit card for some unknown reason. The moment I did that, ChitChat automatically charged another 25 dollars to my card on account of automatic replenishment.Having made the 25 dollar deposit, I purchased the postage label for 12 dollars.I was then told that whenever the amount dropped below 25 dollars, I would need to replenish the deposit either automatically or manually.Instead of asking me for that amount, ChitChat required me to establish a credit line with a minimum amount payable of 25 dollars. The postage calculated was about 12 dollars which incidentally was slightly higher than either ETSY or CanadaPost.I then processed a shipment to a local Canadian address. ![]() I registered for an account with ChitChat and was asked for all the usual details including my credit card information. The ChitChat website promised massive savings on shipping to all destinations which sounded very attractive. I received a banner message from ETSY saying that ChitChat is offering a great shipping option and decided to check it out. ![]()
